My passion for photography began towards the end of my sophomore year in high school. Up until that time I had never owned or used a camera, but I knew I wanted to be a photographer. During my junior and senior year, I was recruited onto the newspaper/yearbook staff and I signed up for a basic class in photography and darkroom techniques. I fell in love with black and white photography and spent every moment I could in the darkroom.
Several years past by, and it wasn’t until after the birth of my third child when I realized how strong my passion for photography had grown. I wanted each photograph to tell a story for our family to cherish for years to come, documenting every moment of my family/children’s lives with countless photographs. I wanted to capture their true personalities while preserving a memory at every stage of their precious lives.
For every person I photograph, I try to capture something unique about them. I prefer to capture the interaction between my subjects as opposed to a traditional say cheese and smile for the camera image.
I am a mother of three children and work out of my home, so I try to limit the amount of sessions I take to normally no more than one session per day. I try to strive for a relaxed environment for you and your family. My goal is to create quality fine art portraits that will be treasured in your family for years to come. Memories can fade over time, but a photograph can kindle a memory that might have otherwise been forgotten.
